God's Power Through Our Obstacles

Hello Lawndale Family,

I’ve enjoyed seeing so many of your smiling faces at our outdoor worship service. There is something special about meeting together as a church body. To say the least, we’ve all been on a unique journey over these last few months. Many prayers have been lifted up before our Lord, asking for an end to this difficult season of life. It’s important to remember that the Apostle Paul pleaded with the Lord to remove his “Thorn in the flesh.” God’s response to him is found in II Corinthians 12:9: “But he said to me, ‘My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.’ Therefore I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ’s power may rest on me.” God didn’t remove Paul’s obstacle but He promised to demonstrate His power through him. We have limitations. God doesn’t! When we admit that we have limitations and weakness, we are affirming the power of God’s strength. It is by allowing God’s power to fill us that we become stronger than we could ever imagine. Our Lord doesn’t intend for His children to be weak and ineffective. He wants us to DEPEND ON HIM, for Psalm 46:1 tells us, “God is our refuge and strength, an ever-present help in trouble.
